Ghaziabad News: 4-Foot Pit Fuels Suspected Terrorist Plot Near Hindon Airbase

Ghaziabad News

Ghaziabad News: An alert was raised when a four-foot-deep and wide pit was discovered next to the boundary wall of the strategically significant Hindon airbase in Ghaziabad. The local police stated that it is impossible to completely rule out the possibility of an infiltration attempt.

Local Alarms Triggered

“On December 10, local people informed the Tila Mod police station that a pit had been dug near the outer wall of Hindon Airport. After this information, the spot was inspected by police and Hindon airbase officials. This pit is situated near the boundary,” Shubham Patel, DCP, Trans Hindon, Ghaziabad, was quoted as saying by Indian Express.

Formal Complaint and FIR

Patel continued, “An FIR has been filed based on the airport security officer’s complaint.” He went on to say that the situation is being looked into in great detail. Some internet users posted images and videos of the pit to social media, tagging the police and air force, according to a News18 Hindi report. The officers are investigating these images as well. Patel stated that checks are also being made on CCTV footage, etc. He also said that the individuals responsible for this incident will soon face consequences.

Tunnel Excavation Speculation

The DCP speculates that someone might be attempting to excavate a tunnel in order to gain access to the property. It is impossible to completely rule out the possibility of an attempt at infiltration by terrorist or anti-national elements, he continued. According to News18 Hindi, other investigative agencies have begun looking into the case in addition to the police because it involves the strategically significant airbase. According to him, earth and mud have temporarily filled the pit. The largest airbase in Asia, Hindan Airbase, is located merely 10–12 kilometres from Delhi. It is a component of Western Air Command.
