Ghaziabad News: It’s getting harder for customers to recharge their prepaid electricity metres. Actually, using other online payment methods, such as Paytm, to recharge directly has been outlawed by Energy Corporation. Following this, customers visit various power plants to refuel. According to officials, users will only be able to recharge online via the Energy Corporation app going forward.
Expansion of Energy Corporation Connections
Energy Corporation has added new connections in numerous locations and installed over 11,000 prepaid metres in the last three months. The majority of consumers are unaware that the Energy Corporation has banned direct online recharge and launched its app. Previously, consumers were recharging these metres through Paytm and other methods.
Consumer Frustration with Paytm
Kuldeep Sharma, a resident of Rajnagar, stated that he has been attempting to recharge his metre for the past week, but Paytm does not offer a bill payment option. Upon arriving at the Rajnagar sub-center, it was discovered that the Energy Corporation app would be used to recharge the metre. In addition, over a hundred people visit Kavinagar, Shastrinagar, and Lohiyanagar daily to obtain information regarding metre recharging. Chief Engineer of Zone 1, Neeraj Swaroop said that consumers can recharge prepaid meters by downloading the Sahaj Liberty app. Paytm and other online payment options are available on this app only.
