Ghaziabad News: It might be pricey to visit hotels, restaurants, malls, and multiplexes in the city. In this regard, the Municipal Corporation will make a suggestion, which will result in increased costs for them that can be recouped from tourists. This plan will be applied to all forms of commercial real estate, including businesses and retail spaces.
Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation’s Efforts to Boost Revenue from Water Resources
Every year, the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation spends roughly ten times as much money on water supply as it does on water taxes. Corporation representatives are considering ways to increase the revenue from water resources. The Corporation’s Water Supply Department presented a proposal in 2015 to collect water user fees from residential and commercial structures.
Proposal for Water User Fees on Business Buildings in Ghaziabad
In the initial phase, the board had agreed to restrict the imposition of user fees to just business buildings rather than residential ones. This suggestion was then marked as closed in the records. Currently, the officials have re-presented this idea and requested the board’s approval in the board meeting held on September 26. If the idea is approved, owners of all business buildings would be required to start paying a user fee starting in the following fiscal year of up to Rs 32 per thousand litres of water. Water charges have also been proposed in this manner. A combined committee of officers and councillors will be established to develop a strategy to carry out this recommendation.
