Ghaziabad News: In a bid to increase the income of GDA, the Ghaziabad Development Authority is coming up with a plan to have ‘Bazaar Street’ in the city. In order to implement the scheme, the authority will pick 12 meters wide road where both Residential and Commercial activities are conducted, the authority will legalize them by declaring them as ‘Market Street’. This move will help in raising funds of the authority. Once the Board gives the approval to declare them as market Street, then commercial activities on the First and Ground Floor on both sides of the road will be valid.

Master Plan Prepared to develop New Market Places

The Ghaziabad authority is trying hard to increase funds and to make this work.  Master Plan has been made to convert some places into Market Places. The authority had earlier declared Ambedkar Road as market street in the old Plan. Once the market street is finalized, the owner of the plot of 90-100 square meters will have to deposit some money with the authority. Currently there are more than 300 shops on both sides of the Rakesh Marg. The authority is hoping to earn over 30 crores from these markets.

GDA waiting for Board’s Final Call

Similar Plan is being worked on Shastri Nagar to declare it as market street. The additional secretary of the authority said that the idea of setting up these market streets came during a hearing on the Master Plan. Proposal will be presented before the board and it will take the final call.
