Ghaziabad News: A biodiversity park is going to be the new face of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. A grand, 65-acre project has been sanctioned behind the Mahamaya Stadium. The state government has released the first installment of Rs 2 crore 57 lakh for the works under Amrit-2. The total estimated expenditure on the works inside the park has been assessed at Rs 15 crore 17 lakh.
Hindon Biodiversity Park to Transform Troubled Area
The idea behind the park is to rejuvenate a currently polluted area, once plagued with refuse and polluted water, thereby affecting the nearby Sai Upvan and the Eco Park. This new biodiversity park will fix all this and open up an entirely new and exciting green space for the community.
As envisaged, over 100 types of plants will comprise flowers, vegetables, and medicinal herbs in this biodiversity park conceptualized as a tourist destination. Some of its attractions will include restaurants, fountains, and flower courts inspired by Mughal Gardens. The Development of the Park shall be in Phases. The first phase is most likely to be completed by the middle of 2025.
Research Facility to Support Biodiversity Studies and Student Learning
Within the near future, visitors can look forward to amenities such as a butterfly garden with solar lights marking out the paths of walkways and cycle tracks. Water features will include lakes and ponds, a lotus garden. There is also a research facility on biodiversity that will provide students and researchers an opportunity to study.
For easy access, the park will be linked through multi-level parking along GT Road and a metro station that will be built nearby. The parking of vehicles shall be controlled under the New Link Road flyover.
Water Management Excellence
The major feature of the park would be its water management system. It shall have three types of basins: swamps, lakes, and ponds. STP with a capacity of 40 kilo liters would be installed for the purification and management of drain water in a sustainable way.
Once fully functional, the park would be managed on a private basis and people visiting would pay for it. This revenue will be divided between the Municipal Corporation and the managing company so that money keeps on pouring in for the upkeep and development of the park. This biodiversity park at Hindon shall be a huge attraction for the environment and developing Ghaziabad city.
