How Much Alcohol Can You Carry in the Delhi Metro?
If you live in Ghaziabad and are bringing alcohol from Delhi, you should be aware of the state’s excise rules. According to these rules, you are allowed to carry only one bottle of alcohol into Ghaziabad if you are traveling by metro. These regulations differ from state to state. In Delhi, under the state excise rules, you are permitted to carry up to two bottles of alcohol in the metro.
What Are the DMRC Rules?
When traveling by metro in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana, the respective state excise rules will apply. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has clarified that if a passenger boards the train in Delhi with two bottles of alcohol and travels to Uttar Pradesh, they must adhere to the excise rules of the destination state. In this case, since Uttar Pradesh allows only one bottle, the passenger should carry only one bottle of alcohol to comply with the local regulations.
