Ghaziabad News: RapidX will soon be made accessible to the public, with plans to commence services during Navratri. While the train fare remains undecided, parking rates have been established. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has outlined the details. If a vehicle is parked in a RapidX parking area for under 10 minutes, there will be no fee. For parking exceeding 10 minutes but less than 6 hours, a charge of Rs 10 for motorcycles and Rs 25 for cars will apply.
Parking services at RapidX
In the case of keeping a helmet for 12 hours, the fee will amount to Rs 5, and for a 24-hour duration, it will be Rs 10 within the Rapid parking system. According to NCRTC officials, the parking facility will operate without any manual intervention, resembling an online parking system similar to that at airports. The system will record the entry and exit times of the vehicle automatically, and a fee slip will be generated accordingly by the machine, which the driver will be required to pay.
Car parking at the Rapid X station will come at a higher cost, with a fee of Rs 50 for a 12-hour duration. This charge will escalate to Rs 100 if the parking duration exceeds 12 hours, and for overnight parking, a fee of Rs 200 will be imposed. NCRTC officials have specified that parking facilities are available at Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, and Duhai Depot stations. Measures have also been put in place to prevent road congestion, including the potential appointment of traffic marshals during peak hours to manage traffic on Meerut Road.
Parking charges at RapidX stations
Similar to airport parking, vehicles will enter the parking area from one side and exit conveniently from the other side. In line with this, provisions have been established within the parking facility to ensure swift pick-up and drop-off for drivers. If these activities are completed within 10 minutes, no charges will be incurred.
