According to family relatives, Abhishek and Anjali tied the knot on November 30. The two had decided to go to the Delhi Zoo on Monday. According his family, Abhishek felt a discomfort in his chest there. After Anjali contacted his friends, the young man was referred to Safdarjung hospital after initially being transported to Guru Teg Bahadur hospital.
Later that day, Abhishek was pronounced dead by doctors. The cause of death was determined to be a heart attack. Around nine o’clock at night, his body arrived at the newlyweds’ Ahlcon Apartments in Vaishali, Ghaziabad. Abhishek’s relative Babita said, “After the body was brought home, she sat next to it, weeping. Then she suddenly got up and ran towards the balcony. I figured that she was going to jump. I ran after her, but before I could stop her, she had jumped.”
Abhishek was originally brought to the Guru Teg Bahadur hospital, which is roughly 20 km from the zoo, according to another relative, Sanjiv. “They told Abhishek’s friends to take him to Safdarjung. I reached there too. I spoke to the doctor. He told me they tried their best, but could not save him.”
