Greater Noida News: There’s good news for those who commute daily from Greater Noida West to Noida. The Greater Noida Authority is working harder than ever to construct a state-of-the-art subway at the Char Murti roundabout. It is now anticipated that the plan to relieve traffic at Char Murti Chowk will soon materialise. A pre-bid meeting was convened by the authority to discuss the construction of an underpass that will alleviate traffic at Char Murti Chowk. It involved more than six companies. The businesses also offered some recommendations. These suggestions have been approved by the authorities. The tender’s requirements now include these.
Project Cost and Tenders
At a cost of roughly Rs 78 crore, the Greater Noida Authority had put out tenders to build an underpass at this intersection. Tenders had to be submitted by December 28, 2023, for companies. Following the tendering process, an authority meeting was convened. It is important to note that, despite discussions about building an underpass at Char Murti roundabout spanning several years, an underpass from here is now necessary due to the overcrowding at Char Murti roundabout following the opening of Parthala flyover in Noida. There is now more demand. The people’s wait is about to come to an end. Soon after the completion of the tendering process, work is anticipated to begin.
Population Surge in Greater Noida West
Greater Noida West is seeing a sharp rise in population. The busiest intersection in this area is Char Murti Chowk. Temporarily, U-turns have been made on both sides to avoid traffic congestion at the intersection. On a 130-meter stretch of road, vehicles travelling from Gaur City to Surajpur or Noida make a U-turn. Likewise, cars travelling from the Surajpur side or the 130-meter road to Gaur City and Pratap Vihar make a U-turn in the direction of Noida. Here, an underpass has been suggested as a long-term fix.
Subway Transforming into a Parallel Road
At the intersection of Char Murti, this subway will turn into a parallel road measuring sixty metres. Vehicles will use this subway to travel from Pratap Vihar to Surajpur, Greater Noida. It won’t be necessary to proceed until the U-turn. The drivers will save time and petrol as a result of this. RITES, a government advisory group, has created its design. In the process of creating the city’s traffic mobility plan, RITES recommended that an underpass be constructed at Char Murti Chowk. The authority is now planning to construct an underpass in response to this recommendation.
