Gujarat Creates History! Guinness Record Sets with Mass ‘Surya Namaskar’ Celebration on New Year 2024

Gujarat News: In celebration of the new year, Gujarat organised a remarkable display of health and unity, earning an impressive entry into the Guinness Book of World Records. Over 4,000 people from 108 locations and 51 different categories practiced the sun salutation, or “Surya Namaskar,” at the same time on Monday, January 1. The state’s commitment to the preservation and well-being of cultural heritage is demonstrated by this event.

Families Join the Historic Surya Namaskar Event

Families, students, yoga enthusiasts, and even senior citizens enthusiastically participated in the historic event, which broke records at the magnificent Modhera Sun Temple. Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel both travelled from Modhera to attend the festivities.

Guinness Adjudicator Declares Gujarat’s Surya Namaskar Record

When Guinness World Records adjudicator Swapnil Dangarikar formally announced the successful attempt, the joyous atmosphere reached a crescendo. Swapnil Dangarikar, Adjudicator at Guinness World Records said, “I was here to verify the record for the most people doing Surya Namaskar. This is a new title because no one had attempted to break this record before. After going through all the evidence and seeing them perform here in Modhera…They have successfully set a new Guinness World Record title for most people doing Surya Namaskar…”

Harsh Sanghavi’s Twitter Triumph

Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi Tweeted, “As the first rays of the New Year’s sun graced Gujarat, an inspiring achievement unfolded. In the esteemed presence of Chief Minister Shri @Bhupendrapbjp ji, a historic Guinness World Record was established through a state-level Surya Namaskar competition at the serene Surya Mandir in Modhera.”
