Guru Purnima 2023: On the occasion of Guru Purnima Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered prayers to his Guru Mahant Avaidyanath in Gorakhpur. Yogi, who is on a one-day visit to his constituency also organized a ‘Janta Darbar’ at the Goraknath Temple.
The idea for ‘Janta Darbar’ goes back to Yogi’s early days when he deld meetings with the community. During the said event many people came and forwarded their grievances to Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
Guru Poornima Worship
The worshipping commenced at 5 am in the morning and went for about 2 hours. All the saints and ascetics offered their prayers to the deities in temple.
CM Yogi Adityanath started his prayers to Lord Gorakhnath by recitation of Vedic mantras. After this he went to resting places of the Brahmalin Gurus including Brahmalin Mahant Digvijaynath and Gurudev Brahmalin Mahant Avedyanath and took their blessings.

As per the traditions of Nathpanth in Gorakhnath temple Yogi Kamal Nath, the head priest of the temple, offered offering(Mahaprasad) of Rot to Guru Gorakhnath. After the conclusion of ritualistic offer Maha Aarti was held for Guru Purnima with dedication towards all the Gurus After this all the Nath Yogis also took the blessings of Gorakshpeethadhishwar as per the Nath tradition.
