Hardoi Viral Video: A heated political confrontation has erupted in the city of Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh, as the Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav drew a parallel of ‘Mathadhish’ with ‘mafias’. A statement made by the Samajwadi Party leader drew an outrage among the BJP workers that resulted in a protest organized by the BJP Yuva Morcha on Saturday.
Protest Led by Yuva Morcha President Akash Singh at Cinema Square
Led by Yuva Morcha President Akash Singh, the protesters gathered at Cinema Square in the city with an effigy of Akhilesh Yadav to be burnt. The protest turned dangerous, though, as the attempt to set the effigy on fire resulted in several BJP workers sustaining burn injuries. The workers had tried to ignite it using a sack soaked in petrol, but the fire spread too rapidly, and four of them suffered burn injuries. Their hands and clothes caught fire before the police stepped in and controlled the situation, equipped with fire extinguishers.
Circle Officer Ankit Mishra and City Commissioner on Site
The protest was highly screened by the police. Circle Officer Ankit Mishra and other constabulary staff including the city police commissioner were present at the protest venue to control the situation. Fire engines and fire extinguishers were placed at the square, ready for any commotion. As soon as the Yuva Morcha members lit the effigy, the police officers doused the flames to stop the situation from getting worse.
After this, protesters continued in re-lighting the effigy with petrol-drenched sacks. It broke out again, causing slight burns on four workers’ bodies. Fortunately, the police put out the fire immediately as it was doused by the blankets they used to handle the fires.
