Haryana News: After Kolkata Rape Case, Another Medical Student Kidnapped and Assaulted by Senior in Haryana PGI

Unsettling reports are coming out of Haryana, where a senior physician at PGI Rohtak is being accused of abducting and abusing a medical intern. Many people are shocked by the case, which comes just after the rape event in Kolkata.

Haryana News: In a shocking development from Rohtak district of Haryana, a loud uproar in a serious case has come about from a medical student who alleges that a senior doctor in PGI Rohtak has kidnapped and brutally assaulted her. According to reports in Amar Ujala, the accused, Dr. Maninder, stands accused of serious misconduct against a student—a first-year resident in the MD Anatomy course.

Kidnapped and Assaulted

This has shockingly exposed many allegations. The student claims that Dr. Maninder abusively forcibly abducted her in a car and transported her to Ambala-Chandigarh. During this horrible ordeal, he browbeat into marriage and inflicted violent physical abuse on the victim. The victim revealed that the Dr. Maninder swept off the assault and abandoned her at the gate of PGI and fled the scene.

This horrific incident has come close on the heels of another incident in which a lady doctor from Kolkata was involved in violence, which only underlines the disturbing trend of violence and misbehavior within the profession of medicine.

Health University Takes Action

The charges have evoked strong reaction from the administration of the Health University. Dr. Maninder has been rusticated from the college, and a bar which restricts him from entering the college premises has also been imposed. Apart from this, he is also in the police custody and is charged with the crime of kidnap and assault.

The police have begun their investigation with the claims. It is a remarkable case which has been brought under consideration and eye-opening to bring notice to the critical precautions which, should therefore be taken to identify and deter such horrific cruel acts of violence and abuse taking place within educational and professional institutions.
