Haryana News: Violence has increased in Haryana ahead of assembly elections in the first week of October. A gruesome murder took place in Faridabad when a youth, Aryan Mishra, was killed on the night of August 23 near Gadpuri on the Delhi-Agra National Highway. His murder, allegedly on suspicion of cow smuggling, has increased the political temperature in the state.

Aryan Mishra Shot After Suspected Cow Smuggling Chase

Reports said Aryan Mishra, resident of Anangpur in Faridabad, was returning home in a Duster car after dinner at a mall near Badkhal Metro along with Harshit and some relatives when some youths chased them suspecting them to be cow smugglers. The situation snowballed into such a turn that the suspects fired at the car in which Aryan received bullets in his neck and chest. Having reached the car and realized the big mistake it was, the attackers ran away from the scene, leaving Aryan fatally injured.

This incident, which happened within weeks of elections, has caused shock to the local community and stirred up political debates across Haryana. The murder has been met with widespread condemnation, while the political atmosphere in this state is getting increasingly charged due to that fact.

Crime Branch Takes Charge

The murder case of Aryan Mishra has been sent to the Crime Branch immediately, which shows the seriousness of the crime. The Crime Branch constituted a team for an aggressive investigation and mainly depended on CCTV footage in identifying the accused involved in the crime. The investigation paid off as five of them were arrested: Anil Kaushik, Varun, Krishna, Saurav, and Adesh. The accused have been booked under the relevant sections of the law, and other legal proceedings are under process.

An incident like this reflects the volatile environment in Haryana, with growing political and social tension in view of the forthcoming assembly elections. The killing of Aryan Mishra has once again brought to light the challenges the state is likely to face in ensuring a peaceful and free electoral exercise.
