Cold Wave Alert Issued in 21 Districts of Haryana

Haryana has issued a cold wave and fog alert in 21 districts as the temperature drops, with the day’s temperature falling below 10 degrees Celsius in identified areas. Meteorological experts predict the activation of a western disturbance from January 8, initially affecting western and southern districts of Haryana. Subsequently, it will gradually move towards the central parts and then the NCR. The western disturbance is expected to bring light rainfall and drizzle at a few locations, accompanied by a rise of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in both day and night temperatures, providing some relief from the intense cold.

Changing Weather from January 8

Meteorologists anticipate a change in Haryana’s weather by the night of January 8, with the likelihood of dry conditions prevailing until then. However, the night of January 8 is expected to bring alterations in weather patterns, with prospects of rain. The arrival of gentle northwesterly cold winds during this period may result in a slight increase in daytime temperatures but a marginal decrease in nighttime temperatures. Moreover, most regions are likely to experience morning fog during this period.

Facing Intense Cold from January 11

The shift in weather conditions is anticipated to bring about widespread alterations and, in some areas, the possibility of light rainfall or drizzle accompanied by thunder and lightning. Haryana residents should brace themselves for the intense cold, expected to set in from January 11, bringing chilly temperatures.
