State Govt Plans Second Phase of 4000 New Play Schools to Enhance Early Childhood Education in Gurugram

Gurugram News

Gurugram News: In a significant move to boost early childhood education, the state government, after successfully launching 4,000 play schools for children aged three to six, is set to establish an additional 4,000 play schools in the second phase, according to an official announcement. The primary aim of these play-way schools is to provide free, high-quality pre-school education.

Vibrant Play Schools to Attract Young Minds

“These play school buildings, operated by the Department of Women and Child Development, are designed with vibrant colors and beautiful paintings to make them more appealing to children,” stated Aseem Goyal, Minister of Women and Child Development.

Collaboration and Training in the First Phase

During the first phase, a State Resource Group was formed in collaboration with Pratham Sansthan, an NGO. Each district team included a child development project officer, a representative from the education department, and two supervisors. These teams initially received practical training sessions, followed by advanced training to enhance their skills.

Extensive Training in the Second Phase

In the second phase, the training program was extended to all child development project officers and supervisors across the state. Additionally, 25,962 Anganwadi workers were trained to utilize teaching aids and innovative teaching methods to engage children and encourage their attendance at these play schools.

Addressing Modern Challenges with Play Schools

Minister Goyal underlined the value of play schools, pointing out that, in contrast to earlier times when kids played in backyards and streets, modern life has made it more difficult for kids to engage in free play. In order to guarantee that kids from low-income families have access to playschool facilities, promote equitable development chances, and get them ready for primary schooling, the government established these public schools.
