Haryana News: In a significant step towards accelerating the development of Gurugram, the 13th meeting of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nayab Saini. The meeting concluded with the approval of a substantial budget of ₹2,887 crore dedicated to various developmental projects within the city.
Key Development Projects Approved
The approved budget includes several key projects aimed at enhancing the infrastructure and urban mobility of Gurugram. Among the notable projects:
- Introduction of Electric Buses: GMDA will introduce 200 new electric buses within the GMDA area to improve public transport and reduce carbon emissions.
- Expansion of CCTV Network: To enhance the city’s surveillance, the existing CCTV network will be expanded from 4,000 to 14,000 cameras, significantly increasing the monitoring capabilities.
- Elevated Corridor and Interchange Construction: An elevated corridor and interchange will be constructed from Vatika Chowk to NH-48 CPR to ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity.
- Flyover Construction: Flyovers will be constructed at the junctions of sectors 45-46-51-52 and sectors 85-86-89-90 to streamline traffic flow and reduce bottlenecks.
- Stadium Upgradation: The Tau Devi Lal Stadium will undergo significant upgrades to enhance its facilities and infrastructure.
- Water Treatment Plants: Two 100 MLD (Million Litres per Day) water treatment plants will be constructed in Basai and Chandu Budhera to meet the growing water needs of the city.

Chief Minister Nayab Saini expressed his commitment to the rapid development of Gurugram, stating that these projects are crucial for the city’s growth and will provide significant benefits to its residents. The GMDA’s comprehensive plan is set to address the city’s infrastructural needs and support its future expansion.
