The Haryana state government is considering a scheme to encourage farmers to cultivate in African countries due to the increasing number of families and the resulting diminishing land holdings. Talks have been initiated with African nations to facilitate Indian farmers’ access to agricultural land. The government is devising a plan to enable farmers to travel to Africa and engage in cultivation. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, during a special discussion program with farmers, mentioned that subsidies would be provided for rotavators and potato planting machines. The subsidy list for both machines is expected to be included within seven days.

Moreover, farmers will be compensated with a total of INR 11,000 crores under various agricultural welfare schemes. The Chief Minister shared details of the significant financial support provided to farmers over the past nine years, including a payment of INR 269 crores from the previous government. This year, INR 112 crores has been allocated to compensate farmers affected by floods.

Additionally, the state government is making strides in using biomass from stubble burning to generate electricity in Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Fatehabad, and Jind. This initiative aims to produce 30 megawatts of electricity. Crop residue is also being utilized to create biofuel, with a 3G plant installed at the Panipat refinery after the 2G plant. Farmers are incentivized with INR 1,000 per acre to ensure proper utilization of crop residue for ethanol production.
