Haryana News— In a significant policy change, teachers working in state universities, government colleges, and government-aided private colleges in Haryana will now be eligible for state awards after completing 10 years of service, instead of the previous requirement of 15 years.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has approved the amendment to the state’s award policy for teachers in recognition of their outstanding services. This revised policy reduces the service requirement by five years, thereby opening opportunities for newer teachers to be recognized for their contributions.
Annual Recognition for 14 Teachers
Each year, a total of 14 teachers will be honored with state awards. This includes two awards for teachers from state universities, eight for those from government colleges, and four for teachers from government-aided private colleges. Award recipients will receive a cash prize of INR 1 lakh, a commendation certificate, and a shawl.
Categories for State Awards
Under the new policy, awards in state universities will be distributed as follows: one award for teachers in the faculties of Science, Engineering & Technology, Health Sciences, and Commerce & Management, and one for teachers in the Humanities and Social Sciences faculty.
For government college teachers, the awards will be allocated as follows: two for teachers in the Science faculty, four for those in the Language, Humanities, and Social Sciences faculty, and two for teachers in the Commerce & Management faculty.
This initiative aims to motivate teachers and recognize their dedication and excellence in the field of higher education, ultimately contributing to the overall improvement of the education sector in Haryana.
