Haryana News: The Haryana government, in its ongoing efforts to improve the state’s transportation infrastructure, has undertaken the construction of a flyover on the Zirakpur-Kalka Highway, starting from Sector 12A and Industrial Area Phase 1’s dividing road towards Zirakpur. The construction of this single-lane right-turn flyover is nearing completion, aimed at alleviating traffic congestion in the area.
NHAI Constructs Flyover on Zirakpur-Kalka Highway to Ease Traffic Congestion
According to an NHAI official, the construction company was tasked with completing the flyover by January 15th. However, adverse weather conditions hampered progress on several occasions. The construction of this flyover, spanning 610 meters in length and 7.5 meters in width, incurred an expenditure of approximately Rs. 13 crores.
Currently, finishing touches are being applied, and the flyover is scheduled to be opened for vehicular traffic noise from April 25th onwards.
Relief from Traffic Jams Expected
The opening of this flyover on April 25th is anticipated to provide relief from day-long traffic jams at the Light Point below Sector 12A and 20 flyovers on the Kalka-Shimla Highway. Traffic pressure in the area is expected to decrease by nearly 40%, as commuters heading towards Dhakoli and Zirakpur will be able to directly access the Kalka-Shimla Highway via the flyover.
