Haryana News: In a significant move to acknowledge and celebrate exceptional work within the government sector, Haryana Chief Secretary, Sanjeev Kaushal, has introduced a new initiative. Appointing authorities will now present appreciation letters to government officers and employees based on their noteworthy achievements.
Recognition of Outstanding Performance in Haryana Government Services
Outlined in a detailed set of instructions issued by Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal, the initiative aims to give due recognition to outstanding contributors. The appreciation letters will not only serve as a token of acknowledgment but will also be officially documented in the personal files of the respective officers or employees.
In a letter addressed to key stakeholders, including administrative secretaries, heads of departments, managing directors of corporations and boards, registrars of all universities, divisional commissioners, and deputy commissioners, Chief Secretary Kaushal emphasized the importance of discretion in awarding these appreciation letters.
“The letters should only be awarded in truly evaluable cases and at the end of the prescribed reporting period. If appreciation is given too easily, it will lose its significance,” the communication stated.
Crucially, the instructions specify that appreciation letters should only be issued by the appointing authority and not by any officer lower than that. However, officers below the appointing authority are encouraged to provide constructive comments regarding the commendable work done by their subordinates. These comments will be accurately recorded in the annual confidential report of the respective officer or employee.
This initiative not only aims to boost morale and motivation within the government workforce
This initiative not only aims to boost morale and motivation within the government workforce but also ensures that recognition is bestowed upon those who have genuinely excelled in their duties. Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal’s directive underscores the importance of maintaining the integrity and significance of such recognition in the government service.
