Haryana News: Relief for Farmers as Tube Well Connections Granted to 930 in Ambala-Panchkula Circle

Farmer

The aspirations of 930 farmers within the Ambala-Panchkula circle are set to be fulfilled soon, marking the end of a five-year wait for tube well connections. The farmers, who have been patiently awaiting access to water through tube wells, are expected to receive this essential resource starting this year. Among these connections, approximately 681 will be issued in the Ambala district, while the remaining will be distributed in areas falling under the Panchkula circle, including Barwala and other regions.

Tender Notice for Tube Well Connections:

To facilitate the issuance of these tube well connections, the Northern Haryana Power Distribution Corporation Limited (NHPDCL) has issued a tender notice, amounting to a total of Rs 19,56,13,000. The allocated funds will support the installation of new transformers, 11 KV lines, LT lines, and transformer augmentation in the operational areas of the Panchkula and Ambala operation circles.A total of 885 farmers submitted applications for tube well connections in the district, of which 681 have provided their consent by depositing the requisite amount into the NHPDCL’s account. The remaining applicants were given an additional period to complete the process but have not yet submitted the required funds.

Inclusion of Additional Farmers:

The initiative to grant tube well connections is part of the government’s 6/23 circular, benefiting farmers who applied for connections between January 1, 2019, and December 31, 2021. This follows a previous round where the government provided tube well connections to farmers who applied between 2014 and 2018. Consequently, farmers in the region can expect a sufficient supply of water for their crops in the upcoming cropping season.

The tube well connections are set to be distributed to farmers with bore capacities ranging from 10 BHP to 35 BHP. The augmentation of infrastructure, including transformers and power lines, is crucial to ensuring the effective functioning of these tube wells.

Financial Considerations and Application Procedure:

Farmers who applied for tube well connections submitted a consent amount of Rs 30,000. Following the issuance of a demand notice by the electricity distribution corporation, farmers are required to deposit the consent money. Once the estimated amount is paid, the tube well connection is granted, providing the farmers with a vital resource for their agricultural activities. The government’s initiative addresses the needs of farmers and supports the enhancement of agricultural productivity in the region.
