The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) in Shahpur is conducting a training program to equip 104 education professionals in the district with the skills to prevent child sexual abuse, as per the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012, Juvenile Justice Act, and Child Rights Act.
Training Program Initiated for Educators in Shahpur to Combat Child Sexual Abuse
The nodal officer for the program, Brjesh Vats, mentioned that even staff from the Child Development Project Officer’s office have undergone training. The training for master trainers will continue until December 29. Subsequently, these master trainers will provide training to the heads of 778 government schools in the district by January 6.
The training program was reviewed by DIET principal Vidyotma Devi, who outlined the objectives of the program to the trainees. She emphasized that the goal is to create awareness and enable educators to address instances of child sexual abuse effectively.
