Haryana’s Rs 200 Crore Startup Fund Yet to See Light of Day After 10 Months

Over 10 months have passed since the announcement by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar about the establishment of a Rs 200 crore Venture Capital Fund (VCF) to support budding entrepreneurs, yet the project hasn’t taken off.

Unfulfilled Promise: No Allocated Funds for Haryana’s Startup Venture Capital Fund

Despite the promise made in the budget announcement in February, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, responsible for the industries portfolio, has confirmed that no funds have been allocated for the proposed Rs 200 crore Venture Capital Fund.

Haryana CM’s Vision for Startup Support Still Awaits Implementation

Khattar’s vision included providing financial assistance of Rs 5 crore to women entrepreneurs and those from reserved categories with an annual income of Rs 1.80 lakh per annum. The delay and lack of funding raise questions about the realization of this initiative to support aspiring entrepreneurs in the state.
