India’s victory in the state is a victory of the Constitution, a victory of democratic self-respect. We are analysing the unexpected results of Haryana. We will inform the Election Commission about the complaints coming from many assembly constituencies. Mallikarjun Kharge’s Statement on Haryana Election Results
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also expressed his views on the Haryana assembly election results. He said, “The result of Haryana is unexpected. The party is assessing the public opinion. After talking to our ground workers, getting complete information, and checking the facts, a detailed response will come from the party. We thank the people of Haryana for voting for the Congress party. Our hardworking workers need not feel disappointed. Our fight against dictatorship is a long one.”
Reactions from Pawan Khera and Complaints to the Election Commission
Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera also expressed disappointment with the results. He said, “The results are unexpected and unacceptable. We have received complaints, especially from three districts—Hisar, Mahendragarh, and Panipat. There are concerns about the voting machines. Some machines with 99% battery showed us losing, while those with 60-70% battery showed our candidate winning. We will raise these issues with the Election Commission.”
BJP’s Surprising Win in Haryana Assembly Elections 2024
The Haryana election results shocked many. Exit polls had predicted that Congress would win a majority. However, on October 8, 2024, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 48 out of 90 seats, forming a majority government. Congress, which was expected to perform well, managed to secure only 37 seats.

In Jammu and Kashmir election results, the National Conference (NC) won 42 seats, while BJP secured 29 seats. Congress, an ally of the NC, won 6 seats in the state. The BJP displayed a strong hold in the Jammu region, winning the majority of the seats there, which contributed significantly to its overall performance in the state.
