In response to the increasing fog and cold waves across the country, the Haryana state government has announced winter vacation. According to official information from the Haryana Chief Minister’s Office, all government and private schools in the state will observe winter vacation from January 1, 2024, to January 15, 2024. This decision provides a 15-day respite during the winter season.

The Chief Minister’s Office has issued guidelines to all government and private schools regarding the winter break, emphasizing the importance of following the instructions for a seamless implementation of the vacation.

Mercury May Drop Further Next Week: Haryana Government’s Preemptive Measure

Anticipating a further drop in temperatures next week, the Haryana government has taken a proactive step to declare winter vacation. It is estimated that the mercury may reach as low as 7 degrees Celsius. This decision, made to counter the intensifying cold, aims to provide relief to students and maintain their well-being during the harsh winter conditions.

Winter Break: A Pan-India Trend as Other States Announce Similar Measures

In addition to Haryana, several other states have already announced winter vacations due to the increasing cold weather. Uttar Pradesh’s winter vacation will run from December 31, 2023, to January 14, 2024, while Rajasthan has declared winter holidays from December 24, 2023, to January 5, 2024. Similarly, all schools in Delhi will observe winter break from January 1 to January 6, 2024.
