Himachal News: A Highway in the city due to the landslide in the city. The Highway connects Shimla to Chandigarh in the Solan city which left many vehicles stranded. A 50 meter road caved in following the land slide between Dharampur and Parwanoo areas. The authorities had to work on the single lane road which was for the light vehicles. The road was closed due to heavy rains and land sliding. The supply of essential goods was also affected due to the landslide and rains
IMD issues Orange Alert for More Rains
Lot of vehicles carrying essential food items, supplies and fruits were stuck on both sides of the road. The authorities are carrying out the rescue work and trying to clear the area soon. The local weather Department had also issued an Orange Alert from heavy to very heavy rains in the city. The landslides have so far claimed 197 lives in the city .
Around 300 Roads are still closed for Traffic
Over 300 roads are still closed for traffic as landslides and heavy rains have triggered lot of destruction and Traffic Jams in the city. The Public Works Department had suffered losses of around 2000 crore.
