Himachal News: Part of Kalka-Shimla Railway Track washed away due to heavy Rains

Himachal News: As Rains continues to wreak havoc in the hilly areas, the part of kalka-Shimla railway track has been washed away due to heavy down pour and floods in the city. The state government has cancelled the Train movement between Kandaghat and Shimla. According to the Rescue teams, over 20 people are trapped in the debris and the NDRF teams are on stand bye for any emergency situation. The rescue teams are also helping the people living under the low lying areas to shift them to the safer places.

Over 30 People died in Rain Related incidents

Continuous Rains have also caused severe land slides and Cloud bursts. Over 30 people have lost their lives in the Rain related incidents. The Weather Department has also issued a Red alert in Uttarakhand and asked people not to step out of the house if its not urgent. Authorities have requested people not to go near the Hilly areas. The Chief Minister also took stock of the situation in the rain affected areas of the city.

All Schools, Colleges shut due to Bad Weather

All the colleges and schools have been closed due to the bad weather until further instructions. The Weather Department has warned of more rains in the city. Meanwhile the NDRF and SDRF teams are helping the stranded people in the city.
