HP News: All schools will remain closed on August 14 in Shimla Urban and Shimla Rural of Himachal Pradesh. Due to heavy rains in Shimla, landslides and trees are falling at many places. In view of this, it has been decided to keep the schools closed for the safety of the students and school staff. Orders in this regard have been issued by ADM Shimla Urban Bhanu Gupta and Rural Nishant Kumar.

As per orders, all government and private schools affiliated to Himachal School Education Board, CBSE, ICSE of Shimla Urban Rural will remain closed on August 14. An alert of heavy rain has also been issued by the Meteorological Center Shimla during the next 24 hours. Similarly, a decision has been taken to keep schools closed on August 14 in Mandi district as well. Orders in this regard have been issued by DC Mandi.
The Chief Minister also took the feedback report from all the district deputy commissioners about the damage caused due to heavy rains in the districts. He also got information about the closure of the road routes. He also learned about the damage caused by landslides and damage to houses.
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Sukhu has instructed the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary as well as all DCs to keep a close watch on the situation created due to heavy rains. The administrative staff should be alert and maintain smooth arrangements for roads, electricity and water.
