Interfaith marriage: A day after a woman was shot at in Jaipur allegedly over her interfaith marriage, police arrested her brother-in-law and two others for shooting her. Police said the brother in law of the woman was the main conspirator who hatched the plot to eliminate Anjali.
Aziz threathened Anjali in 2021
Anjali Verma was shot at in Rajasthan’s Jaipur on Wednesday. Police on Thursday arrested three persons for the crime. The main accused, Aziz, had threatened Anjali and her husband Latif in December last year, saying that they would pay the price for their interfaith marriage.

According to reports, Anjali married Abdul Latif on July 28 last year. She is currently undergoing treatment at the Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur.
Anjali Verma met Abdul Latif at a private college in Jhotwara. They fell in love and decided to get married. When Latif’s family members were informed about his wish to marry Anjali, they started threatening him. Anjali’s family members had not objected to the marriage.

Anjali married Latif in court
However, despite the threats, the two married got married in court on July 28, 2021. After their court wedding, the two started living in Jaipur’s Murlipura area. The couple had also sought police protection from the court.
Anjali’s brother-in-law Aziz threatened the couple in December 2021 and said that they would pay the price for their interfaith marriage.
On Wednesday, two men opened fire at Anjali when she was parking her vehicle in front of her office. Anjali sustained a bullet injury in her back.
The police arrested the accused after Anjali’s mother accused Anjali’s in-laws in the case.
