The president of the association, Ajay Rai, highlighted the severe cold conditions in the capital city, Ranchi, where the plummeting temperatures are adversely affecting the well-being of young students. Despite the challenging weather, neither adjustments in school timings nor official holidays have been announced by the authorities.
Call for Changes due to Cold Wave and Frosty Conditions
The Jharkhand Parents’ Association has written letters to the Principal Secretary of the Education Department and all District Collectors, requesting modifications in school timings and the declaration of holidays. In the letter, Ajay Rai expressed concerns about the persistent cold wave affecting the health of young children. Despite the harsh weather conditions, schools have neither altered their schedules nor granted holidays. He emphasized the need for a timely decision considering the health and safety of students.
