Karnataka Legislative Assembly: As the second day of Monsoon session gathered in Karnataka assembly BJP MLAs started to protest against the delay in implementation of the five poll promises made by the ruling Congress. Former Karnataka CM Yediyurappa slammed the Congress and stated that ruling party has done nothing except making false promises. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and BJP MLAs engaged in heated discussion as the latter proceeded to storm the well of the House. The BJP MLAs claimed that Siddaramaiah government has ‘delivered nothing’ on the promises they made to people in run up to the polls.
“Dhoka, dhoka, Congress dhoka”
The assembly gathering in Vidhana Soudha (Karnataka Assembly) was marked by chaotic eruptions from BJP MLAs over Congress’s conduct after it came to power in the state. Protesting against Congress, BJP MLAs shouted , “Dhoka, dhoka, Congress dhoka”, something which was not added by Speaker on record.
BS Yediyurappa issued protest warning over non-deliverance of election promises. As per ANI, the former CM said “We are protesting against the Karnataka government as they made so many promises but nothing has been delivered. We don’t have any fresh demand, we only want them to implement their five promises. If they do not take any action in the coming week, we will go around the state and stage protests in every district.’
“Already fulfilled three of the five guarantees”
Responding to Yediyurappa’s statement Karnataka minister G Parameshwara said “We have already fulfilled three of the five guarantees. So, it’s only a matter of procedures, otherwise we will implement them and we have absolutely no problem implementing them.”
The BJP was demanding to implement all poll promises on priority basis in order to assist poor people and Parameshwara clarified that the government has “categorically” agreed to implement all five guarantees.
