Karnataka: According to the police, a woman from Karnataka was a victim of a work-from-home fraud and lost more than Rs 8 lakh. Saritha S, who lives in Gurugram’s Sector 43 neighborhood, allegedly received a WhatsApp message offering the chance to work from home. According to the message, she might make Rs 50 for each YouTube channel membership.
Work From Home Turned Out To Be A Fraud
The sender, pretending to be Yusfat, assistant HR manager at Aidnet global marketing organization, assured Saritha that she would have the opportunity to make money by fulfilling duties. In accordance with the advice, Saritha signed up for two channels. Later, Laila, the receptionist, called. Then Laila asked Saritha for her Telegram ID, and she was added to a Telegram group with 180 other people who were all engaged in different activities. Lalia allegedly assured Saritha that by accomplishing the chores given to her, she would make money.

FIR Filed against the Unidentified
Saritha, however, was defrauded of Rs 8.20 lakh and did not receive any compensation for the jobs. At the cybercrime division of the Manesar police station on Wednesday, a FIR was filed against the unidentified offenders under sections 419 (cheating by impersonation) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
