Arvind Kejriwal: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday addressed a Public rally in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur. He launched attacks on both BJP and Congress, blaming both parties for spreading corruption in the state. “At present, Chhattisgarh is known for corruption and scams. Both the Congress and BJP looted the state alike.” said Delhi CM. This is second big rally of Arvind Kejriwal has held in state after his rally in March.
A few days earlier BJP National President J.P Nadda held a meeting in Bilaspur. The state assembly is due for elections this year.
‘Development model like Delhi and Punjab’
AAP’s state party in charge for Chhattisgarh Sanjeev Jha also addressed the crowd in Bilaspur as well. He said that people of Chhattisgarh are fond of Arvind Kejriwal’s development model.
“I believe that tomorrow more than one lakh people are coming to Bilaspur. People in Chhattisgarh like Aam Aadmi Party’s model of governance in Delhi and Arvind Kejriwal’s in Punjab. The people here want Chhattisgarh to get the development model like Delhi and Punjab,” Jha said.
He also launched attack on BJP and ruling Congress for their incompetence, Jha stated, “The people here are looking at the Aam Aadmi Party as an alternative. They feeling cheated after three misrules by the BJP and then by giving a chance to the Congress.”
Bilaspur prepares for polls
Chattishgarh will be the battle ground for upcoming assembly elections alongside Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. The state is currently ruled by Bhupesh Bhagel of Congress.
Bilaspur is a major region in the state and hosts large number of assembly seats. Kejriwal’s triumphant rally marks important turning point in run up to elections. Out of of 24 legislativs seats, in region Congress has 13 seats while BJP has 7. BSP rules over 2 seats, as did Jogi Congress before Dharmjit Singh parted ways with the party.
