Land-for-job scam: The Central Bureau of Investigation has filed charges against Tejashwi Yadav, the deputy chief minister of Bihar, Lalu Yadav, and Rabri Devi.
The Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi has received the chargesheet. The chargesheet hearing date has not yet been set.
The case will be heard in court on July 12.
Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar and head of the Janata Dal (United), is reportedly considering joining the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which is why the CBI chargesheet was released at the same time.
The purported appointments in the railroads arranged in exchange for land parcels given or sold to Lalu Yadav’s family between 2004 and 2009 are the subject of the “land-for-jobs” lawsuit.
It is believed that the jobs were traded for land blocks that were given to Lalu Yadav’s family and his allies or sold to them at steep discounts.
