Lord Ganesh in Police Van: An unusual and controversial event unfolded in Bengaluru when a Lord Ganesha idol was placed inside a police van. This happened during a protest at Town Hall, sparking anger among devotees. The incident quickly spread across social media, with many expressing their frustration.

Why Was Lord Ganesha’s Idol in a Police Van?

The protest was in response to communal violence in Nagamangala during a Ganesh Visarjan procession. This clash led to statewide protests by right-wing groups. In Bengaluru, the Bengaluru Metropolitan Ganesh Utsav Committee organized a protest at Town Hall, despite being denied permission by the police. According to rules, protests are only allowed at Freedom Park.

The Incident That Caused the Outrage

By 11:30 AM, about 20-30 protesters had gathered. The police, acting on the unauthorized protest, began arresting the participants. At this point, a group arrived with a 1.55-foot tall Ganesha idol. They claimed they were en route for Visarjan and joined the protest.

A police inspector took the idol and placed it inside the police van. The image of the Ganesha idol in the van quickly went viral on social media.
