Lucknow News: Breaking from tradition, the Indian Army Day Parade, a long-standing fixture in Delhi, took a remarkable turn in January 2023, relocating to Bengaluru, Karnataka. This shift initiated a new era, as a pioneering choice was made to rotate the parade’s venue across various Indian cities. As per the latest notification, the next year’s parade will take place in Uttar Pradesh‘s capital, Lucknow.
Venue change policy
The main objective of this momentous decision is to introduce diversity in locations, enabling different regions of the country to partake in the splendor of this significant event. As January 15, 2024, approaches, attention shifts to Lucknow, the selected host city for the upcoming Army Day Parade. Following the Bengaluru event, the Indian Army has undertaken a mission to ensure that each of its six operational commands receives the chance to become the focal point as parade hosts.
Lucknow serves as the headquarters for the Army’s Central Command, responsible for various regions, including the Line of Actual Control (LAC) areas in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
This initiative entails conducting the parade in designated venues within all commands, following a rotational schedule. It strategically aims to boost public participation, promote national unity, and demonstrate the exceptional strength and discipline of the Indian Army to varied audiences nationwide.
