Lucknow News: Inspector, Wife and Railway Contractor Accused of Molesting Woman, Investigation Underway

Lucknow News: In Lucknow’s Ashiana neighbourhood, a police officer, his wife, and a buddy who works for a railway contractor have been charged with assaulting a woman and stealing her gold necklace. The incident happened on July 17, but due to pressure from the accused inspector, a case was purportedly filed in this regard on Sunday. Police are looking into the situation. In her complaint, the victim said that inspector Rahul Srivastava, his wife Bhawna, and a contractor friend arrived at a residence in Bahdrukh, Bangla Bazaar Locality, Ashiana Police Circle, when she was there.

Woman Details Harrowing Ordeal in FIR Against Inspector, Wife, and Contractor

“Soon after their forced entry into the house, they started beating me and tore my clothes. I tried to call my husband who was out of the house for shopping, but they snatched the phone from my hand and disconnected the call abruptly. My husband reached the house as he had got the call from me and heard me crying. They misbehaved with my husband and snatched his phone also,” she alleged in the FIR to the police. She claimed that she attempted to reach a settlement between them by reaching out to the police, a group at the police station known as Rahul, and others. “Rahul returned the mobile phones of my husband and mine, but he did not return the gold chain he had looted from me,” the woman alleged.

Woman Reveals Fear of Inspector’s Connections in FIR Filing

The woman said that she and her husband had been threatened by Rahul’s contractor friend. “Rahul also was in the habit of threatening us. He used to boast of his links/ connection he had in police parlance,” she alleged. She claimed that Rahul forewarned her that approaching him would have fatal consequences. “He boasted that he was in the police and no one could harm him,” the victim claimed. Inspector Rahul, Bhawna, and an unnamed railway contractor buddy were all named in a FIR filed against them under pertinent IPC sections 354(b) and 392 for molestation and looting, according to ACP, Cantonment, Abhinav Kumar, and an investigation is currently ongoing.
