Lucknow News: In order to deliver quality treatment to the Cancer Patients, King George Medical University and Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences will tie up with Government to introduce CAR-T cells for the treatment of Cancer patients. King George Medical University Vice Chancellor said that the main purpose of the project is to deliver easy treatment to the patients struggling with cancer. The announcement was made by the KGMU Chancellor in a Cancer awareness event being held at the National Book Festival at the Balrampur Gardens.

What are CAR-T Cells?

This therapy is a type of Cancer Immunotherapy Treatment that uses T cells called immune cells that are genetically altered in a lab to enable them in locating or destroying cancer cells more effectively. This treatment is currently available in advanced countries and also in Bengaluru and Mumbai.

Cancer can be fought with Strong Mental Health and Treatment’

The Chief Guest of the event also mentioned that Blood Cancer is the most common form of cancer in children and it can only be dealt with early diagnosis and better medical care. The other most popular form of cancer is Lymphoma which has 70% survival rate. With the help of CAR-T Cell Treatment and early diagnosis, patient can be cured.
