Lucknow News: Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Path in Ayodhya will go by the former Transport Corporation bus terminal. The sale of the corporation’s land was authorised on Tuesday by the board of directors of the Transport Corporation. Important decisions have also been made in the meeting about eight other ideas.

Transfer of Land for Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Path Greenlit

Principal Secretary for Transportation and Chairman of the Transport Corporation, L Venkateshwar Lu, presided over a meeting of the board of directors at the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation’s headquarters. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Path would be created for the comfort of the devotees to enter the Janmabhoomi complex, according to Managing Director Masoom Ali Sarwar, with the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Ramnagari’s historic bus station, which the Transport Corporation’s buses no longer depart from, is situated on.87 acres of land. The meeting has approved the transfer of that plot to the pilgrimage trust.

Board Adopts PPP Model for Bus Station Development

The Board of Directors agreed that the PPP model will be used to develop five bus stations: Kaushambi Ghaziabad, Ghaziabad’s former bus stand, Vibhutikhand Gomtinagar Lucknow, Civil Lines Prayagraj, and Agra Fort Agra. For the following stage of grooming, a consultant will be chosen. Repairing restrooms, drinking fountains, seating arrangements, fans, lighting, information desks at bus stops, and training company employees to treat passengers politely were among the directives given. The meeting was attended by the Additional Managing Director Annapurna Garg, the Special Secretaries for Transport and Public Enterprises, the Representative for Finance and Planning, the Additional Transport Commissioner, and others.

Transport Corporation Implements Strategic Measures for Efficiency and Revenue Boost

1800 buses older than 15 years have been taken off the road by the Transport Corporation. Additionally, these buses meet the requirements for the auction. Even after this, it is still difficult to auction the buses; therefore, directives were given to streamline the procedure. Using data from corporation bus incidents, instructions were given to lower accidents. At bus stations, plans will be developed for drivers’ counselling and restrooms. At a few of the corporation’s bus stations, canteens and stalls are not being assigned. Their allocation procedure has been made simpler with permission. Similar clearance was granted to alter and streamline the conductor job application process. In order to boost the corporation’s revenue, instructions have been given to begin the consultant selection process for finding and pursuing non-ticket revenue opportunities.
