Lucknow News: On Wednesday, legal action was taken against a Chinese restaurant proprietor and a food delivery service worker for reportedly delivering meat-based dishes to a vegetarian household in the Aashiana region on Monday evening.
FIR lodged against the restaurant owner
At approximately 9 pm on Monday, Rakesh Kumar Shastri, a resident of Aashiana, placed an order for dry chilli paneer through a food delivery application, which was intended to be sourced from a restaurant situated in the Chandernagar area. However, he received a dish of chilli chicken instead. The complainant said, “When we began to eat, my wife said it tasted strange. I checked the box and found that the restaurant had sent us chilli chicken instead of chili paneer.”
The complaint was lodged by Rakesh Kumar Shastri, a resident of sector E, Aashiana. DCP, East, Syed Abbas Ali stated that, “FIR was registered under IPC 295 A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion) and the matter is being investigated.”
Investigation underway: Police
Shastri, as claimed by him, the president of the Balaji Temple Trust, expressed that their entire family was deeply distressed due to their religious dietary restrictions. He accused the restaurant of sending the wrong order without proper verification and claimed that the delivery person was also negligent. The ADCP stated that both the delivery person and the restaurant owner had been identified, and a comprehensive investigation into the incident would be undertaken.
