Lucknow News: Sanjeev Maheshwari Jeeva, an aide to gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari, was killed on the grounds of a court here as a result of the carelessness of six police officers, according to authorities on Thursday.

‘Sanjeev Maheshwari alias Jeeva was murdered and some others were injured in firing with firearms on the premises of the Hon’ble High Court as a result of not carrying out proper checking and frisking at the entry gates for the public and advocates on the old High Court premises,’ a release issued by the Uttar Pradesh Police said.
Six Police Officers Suspended for Dereliction of Duty and Indiscipline
For flagrant disregard for their responsibilities and indiscipline, the six police officers were suspended with immediate effect, it continued. The press announcement announced the suspension of head constables Sunil Dubey, Mohammad Khalid, Anil Singh, and Sunil Srivastava as well as constables Dharmendra and Nidhi Devi. Jeeva (48), who was serving a life sentence in a jail in Lucknow and had been taken before the court on Wednesday for a hearing in a case, was shot by the assailant, who has been named as Vijay Yadav of Jaunpur.
