Madhya Pradesh News: One of four people accused of gang-raping a woman and sexually assaulting her young sister in the state’s Datia area is a BJP official from Madhya Pradesh. Two of the accused have been taken into custody as a result of the townspeople and relatives of the surviving swarming the police station and demanding action. Narottam Mishra, the Madhya Pradesh home minister and member of the Datia Assembly constituency, resides there. The leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party‘s Datia district unit stated on Sunday that the right action will be done if the gang-rape survivor cites the son of a local party official as having been engaged in the crime in her police testimony.
Victim Hospitalized as Investigation Unfolds in Datia Gang-Rape Case
According to authorities, one of the victims made an attempt to hang herself. She was taken to a hospital and is still receiving care. The accused are all locals who live close to the Unnao police station. According to Datia Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sharma, both the accused and the surviving are students, and the police are looking into the situation. According to Sharma, a case has been filed against the accused under the relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. “The complainant claimed that four people kidnapped her and her older sister. Her older sister was sexually assaulted at a house where the accused took them, according to Pradeep Sharma. The woman’s younger sister filed a complaint.
Victim Attempts Suicide after Alleged Sexual Assault in Datia Case
After the event, the girl and her younger sister went back home, where the victim allegedly tried to take her own life. According to Sharma, the woman was later admitted to a hospital in Jhansi in the nearby state of Uttar Pradesh. He said that the accused also sexually assaulted the complainant, according to the First Information Report (FIR). According to him, the accused who are on the run have a reward of 10,000 declared for their capture. Surendra Budholia, the BJP district president, described the occurrence as regrettable and noted that the victim’s statement had not yet been taken down by the police. The BJP will give him (the local functionary) a notice if the victim gives the name of the office-bearer’s son in her testimony to the police. The party will subsequently take additional action, according to Budholia.
