During the Bharat Jodo Yatra, a letter threatening to kill Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was received in Indore. The police involved in the investigation of the case have arrested a 60-year-old accused.
According to the police, Rahul Gandhi received a bomb threat as soon as he entered Indore for the Bharat Jodo Yatra. The letter was found outside a sweet shop in Indore.
According to the Indore police, the sender of the letter has been identified as Dayasingh alias Aishilal Jham. Dayasingh alias Aishilal Jham has been arrested under the National Security Act. It is being told that when the information about the accused was received by the police, he was trying to escape from the train.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Nimish Aggarwal said the district administration had issued an order to send Jham to jail under Rasuka. Aggarwal said it was not yet clear why the accused sent the letter to Rahul Gandhi and probe was on.
Whole matter is of November 2022. After receiving the threat letter, the Indore police had registered a case under section 507 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the unknown person and started investigation.
