Baba Bageshwar: A stampede after a satsang in Hathras has resulted in the tragic loss of 121 lives, with many others injured. In the wake of this incident, Mahant Dhirendra Shastri of Bageshwar Dham released a video on his social media platform, X, addressing the upcoming celebration of his birthday on July 4.

Baba Bageshwar’s Appeal Through Video

Peethadhishwar Pandit Dhirendra Shastri, in his video message, expressed, “On July 4, another year of my life will pass. Extensive preparations were underway for a grand celebration. However, through this video, I wish to make a request and appeal. All the devoted followers of Bageshwar Dham who are coming from far and wide for the July 4 celebrations are dear to us. We would deeply appreciate it if you heed our request.”

Overwhelming Crowd at Bageshwar Dham

Shastri mentioned that despite extensive arrangements and the provision of a large ground, the influx of devotees since July 1 has been overwhelming. “Considering everyone’s safety, we request that you celebrate from wherever you are. Recite the Hanuman Chalisa at home, plant trees, and celebrate in a safe manner,” he urged.

Plans for Guru Purnima

Looking ahead, Shastri announced, “For the upcoming Guru Purnima on July 21, we will organize the event in a planned manner, securing a large field of at least 30-40 acres. We eagerly await to welcome all of you then.”

Safety Concerns Prompt Request to Celebrate at Home

Shastri emphasized the importance of safety, stating, “Due to the excessive crowd, we request all dear followers to celebrate from their homes on July 4. The crowd at Bageshwar Dham exceeded our expectations threefold. Our aim is to prevent any discomfort or harm to our elderly, to avoid anyone falling ill or facing any inconvenience.”
