Cheetah Pawan alias Oban, who reached Shivpuri after leaving Kuno National Park about a week ago, has been rescued. He has been taken back to Kuno. After this the officers also heaved a sigh of relief. Because Cheetah Pawan was being rescued continuously for many days.
Leaving the boundary of the forest and Madhav National Park, the cheetah had started roaming in the populated villages. On Saturday he reached Chan village. When the villagers chased him away from there, he came and sat outside the village. Cheetah was starting to become a threat in the populated area.
To prevent cheetah from entering Mohammadpur village on Friday, the villagers also burnt stubble in the fields at night. Due to this the cheetah had changed its direction. After crossing the Sindh river, Cheetah reached the tribal dominated village, then the villagers tried to drive it away.
On the other hand, the officers involved in the team monitoring Pawan also believed that usually wild animals change their way after seeing humans, but Pawan did not appear uncomfortable at all among humans. He could have gone further inside the village. Pawan had covered a distance of about 150 kilometers from Kuno.
