A chlorine gas tank leaked in Bhopal’s Mother India Colony on Wednesday evening. This caused a stir as the gas spread. People living in the settlement started having burning sensation in their eyes and difficulty in breathing. Due to this people came out of the houses. 11 people who came in the grip of gas were admitted to the hospital. Chlorine gas leaked from a water filter plant. Madhya Pradesh Medical Education Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang told that the condition of the people admitted to the hospital is improving.

Bhopal Collector Avinash Lavania said that an ambulance reached the spot after receiving information about the chlorine gas leak. Three patients were taken to Hamidia Hospital by ambulance. The names of 35-year-old Sangeeta, 40-year-old Pushpa and 65-year-old Parvez are among those taken to Hamidia Hospital. All three are in better condition. Madhya Pradesh Medical Education Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang said in a tweet that there is continuous improvement in the health of those admitted to Hamidia Hospital. The doctors and hospital management are diligently engaged for proper treatment.
Sarang has said that after reviewing the incident of leakage in chlorine tank in Mother India Colony located in Idgah Hills, instructions have been given for detailed investigation. If anyone is found guilty after investigation, he will not be spared. Effective steps will also be taken to prevent its recurrence.
This incident happened when chlorine was being mixed with water. But due to the leakage in the cylinder, the gas started leaking. After this the cylinder was put in the water. From where the cylinder was inserted, the water goes into the drain. When this water reached the nearby Mother India Colony, people started having problems with the water. Their eyes started burning, coughing started. People got scared by this. People panicked and came out of their homes. On getting information about this, the administration handled the situation. The administration tried to diffuse the leaking cylinder. But by then the gas of the cylinder of capacity of 800 liters had dissolved in the water.
11 people who came in the grip of gas were admitted to Hamidia Hospital. The condition of the people admitted to the hospital is now being told better. Many of these people have been sent back home after first aid.
