Once again, Madhya Pradesh is experiencing the harsh impact of cold weather, causing increased discomfort among the residents. According to the meteorological department, cold winds are expected to sweep through several cities, including Bhopal, on January 18. During this period, a change in weather, accompanied by cold winds and the possibility of clouds, is anticipated. A decrease of 2-3 degrees Celsius in both daytime and nighttime temperatures is likely.

In specific locations, such as Kalyanpur in Shahdol, Bijawar in Chhatarpur, Rewa, and Deora in Singrauli, minimum temperatures dropped to 4.3, 4.4, 4.6, and 4.8 degrees Celsius, respectively. Simultaneously, there has been a significant drop in maximum temperatures. Among the five locations with the lowest maximum temperatures, Khajuraho in Chhatarpur recorded 17.4 degrees Celsius, Datia 18.7, Gwalior 19.5, Rewa 21.02, and Prithvipur and Naugaon in Nivari district recorded 21.5 degrees Celsius.
In Bhopal, the minimum temperature recorded was 11.4 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature was 25.3 degrees Celsius. Gwalior recorded a minimum of 6.3 and a maximum of 15.2 degrees Celsius, Indore recorded a minimum of 12.4 and a maximum of 26.4 degrees Celsius, Rajgarh recorded 8, Jabalpur recorded 9.3 degrees Celsius minimum, while Datia recorded 5 degrees Celsius minimum and 24.6 degrees Celsius maximum.
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for the residents, especially in districts like Rewa and Panna, where dense fog is expected, reducing visibility to 50 to 500 meters. Moreover, in several places, an extremely dense fog advisory has been issued, particularly in the Chambal region and districts like Shivpuri, Gwalior, Datia, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, and Nivari, where visibility may drop significantly.
