Congress Dissolves Madhya Pradesh Working Committee Amid Electoral Setback

In response to the recent electoral setback in Madhya Pradesh, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has taken a decisive step by dissolving the Madhya Pradesh Congress working committee. The move was announced by Jitendra Singh, the party’s general secretary in charge of the state, during a press briefing on Tuesday.

Post-Election Strategy: Restructuring for the Future

Following the assembly elections where the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured 163 seats, retaining power, and the Congress’ tally diminished to 66 in the 230-member House, the Congress party is realigning its strategy. The decision to dissolve the Madhya Pradesh Congress working committee is seen as part of the broader efforts to reassess and reorganize the party structure.

Leadership Transition and Continuing Responsibilities

Newly-appointed MP Congress President Jitu Patwari, along with prominent leaders such as Digvijaya Singh, Kantilal Bhuria, Suresh Pachouri, and Arun Yadav, participated in the meeting with Jitendra Singh. The dissolution of the working committee signals a leadership transition, and the district in-charges and joint in-charges have been instructed to continue their responsibilities until further directives.

The AICC’s strategic move aims to address the party’s post-election challenges, regroup, and streamline its approach in Madhya Pradesh.
