Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala has alleged that Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is resorting to desperate measures as the assembly elections approach, making hurried announcements that involve mortgaging state properties. Surjewala characterized the BJP’s current situation as “cracking, disintegrating, and breaking,” suggesting that they are making these announcements out of fear.
Surjewala expressed doubt about the sustainability of the promises made by the BJP government
Surjewala expressed doubt about the sustainability of the promises made by the BJP government, suggesting that they are aware that these various schemes may not last more than two months. He also questioned whether a leader who has been in power for 18 years can genuinely repent in just 30 days and suggested that the people and their faith will ultimately judge their actions.
Regarding the launch of the BJP’s Jan Ashirvad Yatra in Madhya Pradesh, Surjewala pointed out that the party chief, JP Nadda, faced rejection by the people in his home state of Himachal Pradesh, where a Congress government was elected. Surjewala interpreted Nadda’s arrival as a positive sign indicating the BJP’s potential defeat.
Surjewala emphasized that instead of seeking votes, BJP leaders should apologize to the public for the alleged 18-year mismanagement of Madhya Pradesh. He cited data on issues such as farmer suicides, state debt, crimes against women and Dalits, and corruption charges as evidence of the BJP’s shortcomings. He expressed confidence that the people of Madhya Pradesh have become aware of their grievances and are inclined to vote the Congress back into power in the upcoming elections.
